Supervision for Play Therapists
I offer in person or online sessions, or a mixture of the two.
I am an Approved Supervisor with PTUK.
I provide a safe and contained space where we can work collaboratively, building your trust, confidence, and competence over time.
Supervision is a vital part of therapeutic work and safe practice. It not only supports emotional wellbeing, but also plays an important role in encouraging reflective practice, building professional confidence, and reinforcing high standards of care.
As a supervisor, I offer emotional support that promotes self-care and helps reduce the risk of burnout. My aim is to create a safe, contained, and collaborative space where practitioners feel supported to grow, reflect, and develop their skills over time.
Supervision provides opportunities to explore new techniques, build confidence, and consider alternative approaches to working with clients. I work to develop a trusting supervisory relationship, guided by Carl Rogers’ Core Conditions (1986) of Empathy, Congruence, and Unconditional Positive Regard.
Where appropriate, I also offer creative approaches as a way of accessing the unconscious. These methods can be playful and spontaneous, helping to strengthen the supervisory relationship and reflect the possibilities within the therapeutic space itself. At the same time, I recognise that creative work is not for everyone and may take time to feel comfortable. It is always offered as an option, to be taken up when, the supervisee chooses.
